I can the biggest dork in the world. Very often I'm just plain awkward.
I wrote this 2 years ago on another blog, and perhaps I posted it here too, but I wanted to share it. Just a few days after writing this, I met one of these “guys of my future”. We’ve had our ups and downs but we went on our first date two years ago today. I’m amazed.
Dear guys of my future, as you may or may not have read, I have had some good experiences as well as some bad ones—each has helped me learn so much about myself. There are some things you should know about me: I’m guarded, but I’m open minded. I’m not afraid to take a risk if I think it’ll be worth it. I enjoy learning from new experiences and I love making friends. I should come with a warning sign: “Awkward moments guaranteed when accompanied by me.” I have no problem laughing at myself. I’m not perfect, and I accept that. I don’t have the perfect body, the perfect face, nor the perfect personality, but I want you to know I don’t expect you to be perfect either. Maybe we will fall in love with each other one day. Maybe one of us will get hurt. Maybe we will get ever so lucky to spend the rest of our lives together, in which case I promise I will try to make you feel like the happiest man in the world. Maybe you will pass through my life like a burning flame, or maybe you will become my friend forever. I can’t predict that these things will happen, but I do hope that we can build a genuine friendship to last a lifetime. I hope that one day we will be lucky enough to meet each other.
